I look back at a career emerced around imagery. An aerial surveillance officer in the 60’s, conceptualizing technologies in the 70’s for DOD, the advent of personal computers, and on to private industry as a director of communication in video and television production. It seemed only natural to take on the operation of software development in the early 90s in architectural and engineering CAD.

Time has given me an opportunity to take my background skills and use them to express myself artistically. My interests in history, my travels and enjoyment of people initially brought me to the Civil War re-enactment community as you see in some of my work. Today I work on a number of time periods, have a growing portrait activity, and still enjoy the personal interaction with clients as I meeting others interested in History.

Keeping up with the newest technologies of 3D modeling and postproduction of the movie industry keeps me humble as I read through thousands of pages of manuals, technical notes, and new releases. To keep me on my toes, and headed in the right direction, is my oldest son, a professor at Va Tech who oversees Computer Animation and 3D Modeling. The oldest of four wonderful, grown children, some with children of their own, he is a major influence to my creative side, while my second son is the professional business side of me. A regional director in the insurance industry, he is also a wonderful father of three beautiful girls. A father that spends the time with his children that most of us wish we had done or could have experienced. I also have two wonderfully independent daughters. Smart, beautiful, with a good head of their shoulders, what more could a father ask for then intelligent men to be in their lives and here also I am lucky.
